Gel nails in Kfarchima

Gel color, rubber base, dip powder and gel extensions. What each one is, what it costs at L'ICÔNE, and how to make it last.

Gel color

Gel color is polish that sets hard under an LED lamp. It's dry the moment you leave, it stays glossy, and it doesn't chip the way regular polish does. On its own it's $10. With a manicure it's $15, and on your toes with a pedicure it's $20.

Rubber base

Rubber base is a thicker, flexible gel brushed over your own nail. It smooths ridges and adds strength, so thin or bendy nails can grow out without snapping. You may know it as BIAB. Wear it clear or nude for a natural look ($15), or with gel color on top ($25). Add a manicure for $5.

Dip powder

With dip powder, the color is a fine powder set over a base layer instead of a painted polish. It gives a hard, even finish. A dip powder set is $15, or $30 over rubber base for extra strength.

Gel extensions

If you want length, we build it with gel and shape it to what you ask for: short and natural, almond, or long. A full set of gel extensions is $50. Gel feels lighter than acrylic and has a natural shine. If you want very long or stiletto nails, read about acrylic nails too.

Refills

Your nails keep growing under the gel, so after a few weeks a gap shows at the cuticle. A refill fills that gap and rebalances the nail so it doesn't get top-heavy and lift. A gel refill is $30. Most people book one every three to four weeks.

French and chrome on gel

A gel color French is $15, or $20 on rubber base. Chrome powder is +$5 on any set, and hand-painted designs are +$1–3.

Making gel last

  • Wear gloves for dishes and cleaning products.
  • Rub cuticle oil in once a day, especially around the edges.
  • Don't use your nails to open cans or peel labels.
  • If a corner lifts, don't pick at it. Message us and come in.

Gel nail questions

Is rubber base the same as BIAB?

Close enough. BIAB (builder in a bottle) is a brand name for the same idea: a thicker, flexible gel that strengthens your natural nail. At L'ICÔNE we call it rubber base. It's $15 on its own or $25 with gel color on top.

Will gel damage my nails?

Gel on its own doesn't thin your nails. The damage usually comes from peeling it off, which pulls up the top layers of the nail. Come in and let us take it off properly instead.

How often do I need a gel refill?

Most people come back every three to four weeks, once the gap at the cuticle starts to show. A gel refill is $30.
